Junkanoo CelebrationJunkanoo epitomizes the spirit and feelings of the Bahamian people and their expressions.

Its music touches the very core of the young Bahamian's mentality from a very young age. Junkanoo remains central in the thought patterns of the people, like a bud waiting to bloom.

It is no wonder youth was offered an opportunity to express what has become so natural to them back in 1981 at the first Jr. Junkanoo parade, it was readily accepted.

The parade is a competitive display of indigenous Junkanoo music, dance and festival costumes by Primary and Secondary school students. The event has become a major draw for adults and young people alike.
